Responsive web design - Walk The Line

Published on Tue May 13, 2014 by

Just completed and launched another responsive website. A responsive approach to web design suggests that sites should automatically respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation. We use a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and of course CSS media queries to achieve this. So as a visitor to your site switches from their iPad to a laptop, the site changes to accomodate the screen size of the device. This means we no longer have to design for each new gadget that appears on the market and makes future-proofing possible, even for the most basic of sites.

The client here The Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team needed their site redeveloping, as their previous site was not optimised for mobile devices. The site promotes a fund-raising event, targetting the general public, so it was essential for it work on all sized screens successfully.

Anyway the client was happy - here is a little quote:

"This was our first time working with DJC Design and I must say we were impressed. As a charity we are always looking for the best value for money and David was certainly able to deliver in that area. His level of professionalism and eagerness to help us was second to none and our project was signed off in a very timely fashion. We would definitely recommend David to our colleagues and we will be sure to use him again." Gareth – Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team

"I have employed David for conferences, presentations, social engagements, marketing materials, open days, portrait shots, official document signings amongst many others. David has always been amenable to our sometimes short notice and has delivered our photos in a quick time frame as agreed and sometimes much quicker depending on our needs. He has always been very helpful, he follows and delivers on the brief and is able to give additional value to jobs with minimal briefs. I am more than happy to recommend David and he will no doubt deliver the same quality he provides us."
